AGE UK Plymouth Seeks CEO

Key information:

  • Up to £70k depending on experience

  • Office based - Plymouth and Plymstock

Age UK Plymouth is a well-established and respected charity working with older people & their carers in Plymouth. They offer a range of services to enable & support people to live full & active later lives.   

Age UK has ambitious plans to tackle loneliness through numerous regular activities & ‘one-off’ events to help people feel more included in the community. Their information & advice service partners with other organisations & charities to provide options for improving later life.

Age UK Plymouth (partnered with Livewell Southwest) is home to a 24 bedded short-term Care Centre, providing ‘step down’ care from acute care, or prevention of hospital admission (to promote independence before returning home).

 Reporting to the Chair of Trustees responsibilities will include:

  • Working with trustees & other partners to develop & deliver an ambitious strategic plan, to enable Plymouth's over 50's & carers to live a full & independent later life.

  • Building a highly effective team, developing & promoting a culture of collaboration, communication & delivery of high-quality services. 

  • Developing a programme of fund raising to deliver agreed priorities & projects, creating sustainable streams of income & investment.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead an ambitious organisation, keen to grow the reach & impact of their work. 

 They are seeking to appoint an ambitious skilled leader, who is currently a CEO or is in a Senior Leadership role (ready to move into a first CEO position).

 You will bring: 

  • Experience of operating at strategic level with inspirational leadership skills.

  • Empathy & a strong interest in supporting the over 50's, those living with dementia & their carers. 

  • Ability to establish & maintain positive relationships with a wide range of people.

  • Vision and a proactive approach.

  • Experience of financial forecasting & reporting. 

  • A commercial outlook, with experience of identifying & implementing new opportunities that generate income.
