Moon Executive Search is appointed by FareShare South West

FareShare South West is part of the network of regional centres co-ordinated by the UK’s largest food charity, FareShare. The network consists of 21 independent regional centres, located across the UK, all fighting the same issues: food waste and hunger. Over 270,000 tonnes of perfectly edible surplus food is thrown away in the UK each year. We want to see that food put to good use.

We work with more than 500 companies across the food supply chain to minimise the amount of fit-for-purpose fresh, frozen and/or long-life food going to waste, and instead divert this to local Community Food Members (CFMs), thereby helping to reduce food waste and poverty.

Our network of CFMs consists of charities and voluntary organisations spread right across the south-west of England that work with some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in the community. Supplying these organisations with a regular and affordable range of high-quality, in-date food, allows them in turn to sustainably support a large number and wide range of people and groups across the region.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Moon Executive Search as our official recruitment partner who will work with us, utilising their extensive networks and search methodologies, to help us select the new Chief Executive of FareShare South West.

Andy Street, Chair of Trustees, said:

“This is a crucial time for the Charity as local food poverty needs are increasing and therefore the need for our services has never been greater. Our income, reserves and staff have grown substantially in response to the pandemic, so maintaining our income to ensure our core activities and ambitious plans are funded and delivered is a key objective and challenge.

So, there is still much to do as we seek to expand the operation further in response to growing need. As such we are seeking a new Chief Executive to work with the Board of Trustees, our talented staff team and cohort of volunteers to lead the Charity into this next season of growth, building on what has already been achieved. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate.”

Simon Quinn, Director of Search at Moon Executive Search, comments:

“FareShare South West makes such an enormous impact on the lives of so many people, providing an extraordinary service with ever-increasing demands. I have been so impressed by the innovation of this Charity and by the enormous dedication shown by their incredible volunteers. We cannot wait to get started on this search!”
