The Children’s Scrapstore: Turning Waste Into Play
The Children’s Scrapstore in Bristol are a reuse charity dedicated to helping businesses divert reusable waste away from landfill or energy recovery to help improve art and play opportunities for children, young people and adults.
The team at Moon Executive Search would like to share their message with our friends and clients to help supply the Scrapstore with two commonly held items that make their role in the community easier: Bags & Boxes
The pandemic drastically altered the way that they operated with a large amount of their revenue being derived from footfall generated by the Art Shop and Scrapstore Warehouse. The store averaged 36 families a day before lockdown and that income was totally halted.
The young and energetic have felt the brunt of the lockdown more than anyone and these packs will ease their frustration at the lack of socialising.
Creativity at Play
The team also designs Bespoke Activity Bundles for organisations wishing to support their communities through creativity and play, from early years providers to care homes. The team will collect Scrapstore and ArtShop materials to a brief, then package sets of resources ready for the customer to collect and distribute.
The ArtShop and Scrapstore Warehouse are back open and are operating in an appointment-only basis. The reuse of waste alongside the increased need for children to be creative and play ensures the Scrapstore is a brilliant place for companies and organisations to donate to. The individual donations are fantastic but the larger bulk donations will make a massive difference to their operation.
The Scrapstore opened their online shop to sell their extensive range of arts and crafts materials for creatives, available for collection or local delivery.
Our friends at Quartet Community Foundation helped organise hundreds of boxes to be delivered recently.
“Kirsty and I have a relationship from many moons ago and our company have been supporters of the Childrens Scrapstore for years. The relief that they provide is so necessary for families during this difficult time.”
