The studio is seeking a Director of Marketing to align commercial needs with Aardman’s strategic direction. We’re proud to be coordinating the campaign as retained search partners.

As the Director of Marketing, you will be instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of Aardman brands. Reporting directly to the Executive Commercial & Brand Director, you will lead a talented marketing team, collaborating with stakeholders across the organisation to maintain their brands’ global appeal and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brand Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive brand strategies that align with Aardman's business goals.

  • Brand Equity: Safeguard and enhance the long-term value of Aardman brands through effective marketing initiatives.

  • Team Leadership: Inspire and mentor the marketing team to deliver exceptional results.

  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with the Executive Board, development, production, sales, distribution, and launch teams to ensure a cohesive brand vision.

  • Global Brand Strategy: Oversee strategy plans for each intellectual property across all media, from development to launch.

  • Distributor Partnerships: Nurture and strengthen relationships with external distributors to maximise marketing impact and attention.

  • Commercial Development: Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to ensure brand strategies support the overall success of Aardman's portfolio.

  • Brand Identity: Oversee the creation and maintenance of clear brand identities, including pitch materials and style guides.

Aardman is seeking a seasoned Brand and Marketing Executive with a track record of success at senior management level. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of consumer-centric branding principles and experience working in diverse global markets. They will have a background managing profit and loss (P&L) in a strategic planning role, ideally within the entertainment industry. The Director will have led impactful branding initiatives that resonate with consumers for well-established brands. Furthermore, they will be a passionate and creative individual, with strong convictions about leveraging branding, positioning and teamwork to increase revenue and business performance.
