(Closed) ART Business Loans: Non-Executive Directors

Moon Executive Search is acting as search partner for ART Business Loans, who is looking to appoint several new Non-Executive Directors.

ART Business Loans is looking to appoint several new Non-Executive Directors to replace existing Board Members who will be stepping down in September 2021.  In joining ART Business Loans at an exciting and challenging time, with ambition to grow scale and impact, these positions offer the successful individuals the chance to play a leading role in supporting the growth and transformation of SMEs throughout the Midlands region.

Art Business Loans

ART Business Loans (herein ART) is a not-for-profit Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI), owned by their members – both borrowers and investors. It was set up as a response to one of the recommendations from the Aston Commission, led by Sir Adrian Cadbury, which was investigating issues around access to finance in the area. ART’s original mission ‘to alleviate poverty through enterprise’ has developed over the years to include a broader remit ‘to ensure that viable businesses in the West Midlands can access the finance they need.’

Demand for ART’s loan service has been higher than ever since the pandemic and ART intends to call upon their considerable years of expertise in dealing with small businesses to continue to support, in line with our mission, viable businesses and social enterprises in the West Midlands unable to source their financial needs from the banks, whilst also supporting job creation and preservation in underserved areas and communities.

A Person

We are searching for the potential following attributes in prospective candidates:

  • Sound financial knowledge – ACA/FCA with corporate finance, raising venture capital or a lending background.

  • A proven experience of contributing to business strategy.

  • An excellent regional network to assist with raising the profile of ART.

  • Digital Expertise, to include SEO and web analytics.

ART would expect prospective candidates to be capable of effective business scrutiny; challenging appropriately and possessing the necessary experience to offer strong governance around risk and compliance whilst also presenting creative business solutions. It is vital for the governance and efficiency of ART that all Directors make every effort to attend all meetings, which amount to approximately 6-8 days per annum including any sub-committee meetings and the AGM, plus reading and preparation time.

These positions offer a small stipend, and reasonable expenses are paid.
