OTR is a mental health social movement by and for young people aged 11-25 living in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. They believe that providing mental health services isn’t enough, and that real help requires the support, promotion, and the defence of the mental health rights and social position of young people.
In its 59-year history, OTR has helped over 20,000 young people. Through health promotions, interventions, and NHS collaborations, they aim to positively disrupt the mental health ecosystem by providing young people with a real choice of opportunities to improve mental health, creating supportive communities they can trust. They’re seeking someone who can navigate the unprecedented challenges young people are facing, such as the climate emergency, the cost-of-living crisis, and the lingering impact of the Covid pandemic.
The new Chief Executive will be expected to provide active and visible leadership, supporting a diverse team, and building strategic relationships whilst delivering robust financial management. The CEO will have a wide range of responsibilities, spanning operational leadership, strategy development, and funding. Some of the key responsibilities are listed below:
To provide OTR with an over-arching leadership and strategic focus.
To establish and manage key political relationships, partnerships, and contracts with various stakeholders across voluntary and public sectors.
To ensure and oversee a strategy for diverse and sustainable income generation that supports OTR’s strategic plan.
To ensure and oversee robust financial management of resources.
The successful candidate will be resilient and adaptable, with substantial leadership experience. Ideally, the candidate will have professional training in child and adolescent mental health, as well as knowledge of and experience in business, social enterprise, fundraising, and donor management in related fields.
The new CEO must be value-led with a commitment to equality and inclusivity and be able to anticipate and lead the organisation through the ever-changing landscape of young people’s mental health.
We’re interested in hearing from individuals with senior leadership experience who have a deep personal commitment and passion for the mental health and well-being of young people.
