Selwood Housing is a nonprofit organisation that provides high-quality, affordable housing and community support services in Wiltshire, Mendip, and Bath & North East Somerset (BANES). With a portfolio of over 7,000 homes, including rentals and shared ownership options, they are actively addressing the housing crisis. By 2034, Selwood aim to expand their portfolio by 1,700 additional affordable homes.
The organisation’s local roots distinguish them from other housing providers. Their team consists of 300 dedicated employees, all local residents who understand the needs of their customers. By actively listening and engaging with the community, Selwood continuously strive to improve their services.
Selwood is seeking two new Board members to support their growth and mission. Working with the Chair, these individuals will play a crucial role in governance and risk management.
As Board members, you’ll be responsible for setting a strategic direction aligned with Selwood’s values and principles. The Board will develop a business plan that ensures compliance with relevant regulations and monitors the group's overall performance. Furthermore, you'll provide oversight for the company's strategies, budgets and controls to mitigate risks and ensure effective operations.
Selwood hope to hear from well-rounded Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) who can enhance discussions while maintaining a balance of skills on the Board. They require one Board Member with expertise in finance and accounting, preferably with a CCAB qualification or equivalent, and another with a strong understanding of housing regulation. Candidates will be passionate about supporting the communities in which Selwood operates and committed to promoting equality and diversity.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Selwood Housing as they invest in new and existing homes. Current homes are being improved in areas most important to customers, including repairs, safety, and environmental efficiency. Moreover, with 300 new homes in the pipeline, they are committed to delivering more affordable housing to the local community.
