The Olympus Academy Trust is responsible and accountable for the education of more than 6500 students between the ages of 3 and 19 and for the employment and support of approximately 800 staff in 10 schools (and one more yet to open).

As a multi-academy trust, The Olympus Academy Trust depends on having a Trust Board and Executive Leadership Team which is able to support and challenge each of its schools. Their values also emphasise the critical role which is played at local school level, where they have Trust Governors who are much closer to the school community – understanding its particular needs and having a real opportunity to make a difference to learners.

Life within the Olympus Academy Trust has a habit of moving quite rapidly. They have five primary schools, one all-through school, three secondary schools - one with a specialist Engineering pathway. They are the sponsor for Trust for Lyde Green Secondary School which is due to be built and open in the next two years, they are 6 months into planning a replacement secondary school for Patchway Community School under the Prime Minister’s Schools Rebuilding Programme, and have ongoing expansion projects such as a new nursery provision and school field replacement schemes.

Each school has its own unique identity and culture but there are many things that align across the Trust to allow them to maximise opportunities to collaborate, share best practice and reduce workload.

They are now seeking three new Trustees to join their Board, which is accountable for all the schools in the Olympus Academy Trust. Providing oversight and supporting the leadership team of the Trust with the ultimate aim of improving learner progress and outcomes, they are looking for Trustees with the following experience/specialisms.

The Three Trustee roles are:

1 – A Trustee with senior leadership background, already acting as a Non-Exec or Trustee or with Governor experience with a view of becoming the Chair of the Board in 2026.

2 – A Trustee with Human Resources and People skills

3 – A  Trustee with Secondary Education experience and/or knowledge

You can expect to develop a range of both new and existing skills. Training is provided and there is a wealth of independent training providers which offer opportunities for professional development.

This is a unique opportunity to positively influence children and young people’s lives!
