Lilian Faithfull Care seeks Trustees

Lilian Faithfull Care is a charity with 78 years’ experience and proudly provides care, support and a ‘home for life’ for remarkable residents in Gloucestershire. The charity puts people over profit and delivers care with dignity and respect. They care for over 300 residents and day guests, across six care homes and an adult day care hub in Cheltenham and Stroud and are supported by around 400 staff.

They offer a range of care for each step of a person’s care journey, including day care, respite stays, residential living, care for couples, dementia, nursing and end-of-life (palliative) care. They also offer independent living accommodation in our apartments and bungalows.

They have two vacancies on the Trustee Board and are looking for new Trustees who can add specific knowledge and skills and who have enthusiasm and commitment to contribute to the charity.

LFC Trustees are responsible for providing appropriate oversight, governance, and leadership to LFC in the pursuit of its strategies to fulfil its charitable purposes.

We are looking for candidates with knowledge/experience of one or more of the following:

  • In-depth professional knowledge/experience of elderly/adult social care or the commissioning of social care or experience of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) or a similar regulatory environment

  • Knowledge/experience of any of the following digital transformation and strategy, or assistive technologies ranging from health data, telemedicine, robotics and artificial intelligence that could be used in a care environment. 

  • A good understanding of charity governance and company secretary experience.

  • Lived experience of maybe a family member or close friend in care or being cared for.

All candidates should have:

  • A commitment to the values and principles of the Charity and enthusiasm to contribute effectively to LFC development.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.

  • Be approachable, flexible, and able to work as a team.

  • Be diligent and with attention to detail.

  • Ability to commit the time required to conduct the role well.

If you have not been a Trustee before training and support will be provided to you.

Trustees will ideally be based within comfortable travelling distance of the Cheltenham area.

Ideally to start as a Trustee at the Board meeting on 27th November 2024.
