Paul’s Place seeks Head of Operations

Paul’s Place enhances life for physically disabled adults and gives people the opportunity to develop new skills, enjoy new experiences and live life to the full. The Charity brings people together through social activities. This combats isolation, improves wellbeing, and opens doors to skill development and new, enriching experiences.

Founded in 1995, the organisation has supported hundreds of physically disabled adults and those with cognitive and sensory impairments. Paul’s Place are passionate about enabling people to live life to the full. This is achieved through projects and activities that aim to:

  • Connect people, build friendships and reduce loneliness

  • Develop new skills and achieve independence

  • Support people to improve their health and wellbeing

As a result of growth and an increased demand for services, the organisation has outgrown their current home. The next 12 months will be pivotal for Paul’s Place as they relocate to Shire Way Community Centre in Yate. Their vision is to create ‘Paul’s Place Hub’ - a fully accessible activity centre. This will enable the Charity to support more people while increasing employment opportunities and community participation.

With this change comes an exciting opportunity, they are searching for a Head of Operations. This individual will take Paul’s Place to the next level in their mission to enhance the lives of adults with physical, cognitive, and sensory disabilities.

The Head of Operations will oversee the service provision and day-to-day running of the new centre, providing a practice leadership model that focuses on members’ needs. They will work closely with the CEO and senior management team to develop the Charity’s strategic vision and ensure consistent leadership for staff and volunteers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing development of person-centred support (including person-centred planning, communication techniques and strategies, positive behaviour support and active support). Furthermore, the Head of Operations will implement the best health and safety practices and oversee risk management assessments.

Paul’s Place hope to hear from skilled communicators, with experience developing and delivering services for disabled adults. They are looking for passionate applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, including social care, community, non-profit, voluntary, NHS and healthcare support. The Head of Operations will produce complex reports for a variety of audiences and undertake risk management assessments. Patience and the ability to remain calm in a crisis is highly desirable, alongside knowledge of the challenges faced by disabled people. The successful candidate will be aligned with the values of Paul’s Place, and be committed to helping disabled people live life to the full.
