For nearly 20 years, Youth Moves has helped young people in Bristol reach their potential. The Charity develops confidence and essential skills in people aged 8-19, opening doors to future success and wellbeing.
Youth Moves inspires and encourages individuals to live their best lives – to feel safe and to be themselves, to be happy and have fun, to grow and be confident. They give young people a voice and make sure they’re heard. The Charity works with approximately 1000 young people per year, however, this is set to increase to 4-5,000 when the new Youth Zone, 224, opens next year.
224 is a collaborative project between Youth Moves and the national Charity OnSide. The state-of-the-art centre will help young people discover their passion and purpose. With incredible facilities and a staff of skilled and dedicated youth workers, 224 will help young people from a diverse range of backgrounds thrive. The organisation is seeking a Philanthropy Manager to work closely with OnSide and ensure 224’s financial stability.
OnSide’s network comprises 22 Youth Zones that are either open or under construction, including 224. All are founded with major donor support – local individuals and corporations giving to their Founder Patron campaign. As Philanthropy Manager, you’ll work closely with OnSide’s fundraising team to add extra momentum to the Founder Patron campaign. Following the completion of this project, you will become part of the permanent team at 224 – your responsibilities will include:
Developing and managing a pipeline of potential individual and corporate supporters.
Providing high-quality stewardship to Founder Patrons to maximise gift retention, inspiring donors to fulfil their pledges and extend support beyond their agreed initial timeframe.
Collaborating with the fundraising team and wider Youth Zone staff to implement successful income generation strategies.
Building strong working relationships with colleagues and leaders across Youth Moves and OnSide.
Youth Moves hopes to hear from ambitious and motivated individuals with experience managing senior stakeholder relationships. The successful candidate may not be from a fundraising background – a proven track record building strong relationships with corporate clients is seen as equally valuable. They will possess either experience securing funding from high-net-worth individuals, or transferable skills in business development, senior account management or sales. The Philanthropy Manager will be a resilient and determined individual, who delivers exceptional results through innovative approaches. Most importantly, they will be aligned with Youth Moves’ values and committed to improving young people’s lives.
